I met her through the 'Ikarinter.com' agency. After one month of corresponding, we met in Kiev where I bought for her several items of clothing, some nice jewelery and a cellular telephone (#038-503-960-926). During this time spent in Kiev , she accepted the idea of marriage and we then commenced making plans for our future. Our relationship continued for three months and during this time, her begging for money turned into demands and threats.

After I returned home on August 30th, she'd write requesting money for her illness and for a new pair of winter boots and coat. I sent her $300 on three seperate occassions via Western Union . When she began to demand $1000, I became very suspicious and refused to send such a large amount to her. I put a tracer on her email and was extremely shocked and sickened to learn that her employer, an agricultural importer/exporter had sent her on a one day trip to Karachi , Pakistan , perhaps her business is the importing and distribution of heroin.

Her full name is Irina Valentinovna and she tells me that her apartment is in Odessa , however  most of the tracers tell me she lives in Kiev . The address given by her agency was: 11 Dneprogesskaya, Kherson , Ukraine , 73013

The story hasn't ended because she still opens my email and because I am contacting many of the antiscam organizations, the FBI, embassies, Interpol and Europol.

"I am a divorced father of 1, white American, 42 years old, self-employed"  What happened : It was in late October of 2002, that I met this person on the internet dating site Kiss.com,, she was under the title Barbe4,, from the Ukraine. We started corresponding by e-mail and phone. Shortly after this she mentioned that she was out of school until early December and would like to come see me. So like an idiot I ended up being scammed out of an airline ticket and money via Western union. I found this website with her picture and her sister's picture on it..After I confronted her with this proof she disconnected her phone. But it was to late to cancel the ticket, but I have contacted the Visa Fraud dept, the FBI and mailed my story to both Embassies. If you should read these stories I hope you also try to put a stop to it and pass it on to your friends. I have attached letters and photos of the so called Barbi and her sister Natalya, along with my name and e-mail address.

Hello David, I have no words... I am shocked. I don't know haw it explain but I felt that everything can not be nice. Something must be happened. I look throe all photos of all woman and I am sure that most photos do not correspond real people which make scam. I see photos of famous Ukraine singers women,his photos is every were in Internet it is really easy to scan any photo from net,and you should understand it. So my sister photos and my photos also was scan..and used in bad thinks. So what I can do with this ?..unfortunately it is a lot of bed person in this world and it is not my fault I never know how it is possible to do such bed thinks. As for my address my sister leave some guys from Ukraine her phone number ..in Gala.chat,so it is very easy throe the number of tel. to learn our address name and surname. So maybe for start they used our address but when understand that it is not possible to get money from my address,just change all think,first name and surname for someone same age which passport info they can used to get money. I am going to find this Tatyana Ershova very soon,and she will have big problems. Second I want that you know that I don't affread nothing because I don't do nothing bed,and also all those numbers of tel was not mine so for this numbers very easy to find real frauds and real address. I am not guilty and I can easy prove this. There was no specific money request except for asking for help to come to the US , no monetary amounts discussed in the e mails.

Hi I am a single 46 year old American male. I received my first letter from Marina in Early November. By the 9th letter she was madly in love with me and asking for money. I have received similar scams so I continued to play with her until I got the evidence I needed. By deciphering the headers at the bottom of the emails makes it appear the emails were coming from Yoshkar Ola , Russia . This seems to be a hot bed of Russian scammers and the lady photographed is probably a model. This particular scammer is good and actually reads your responses and reacts to your questions. I will keep him or her occupied for a while as I stall her but sooner or later they will move on to greener pastures. Notice how she reacted to my suggestion that I visit her first. Very clever yet anyone familiar with Russia   will understand that a lady of her age would never be granted a visa to visit the US . Thanks to this website and previous experience she did not get a cent from me but I am sure she will attempt to scam others. Be careful of this lady guys.  Tim

Clues that she was a scammer Email #2) She stated that she was 31 years old, but from her birthdate she should have been 32. Emails #3, #5, #7, #8, #10, #11) The indentation for the first paragraph is different than the rest of the letter. This is a clear sign that she is using a form letter. Emails #6 on) I told her serval times I did not love her and I barely knew her. She completely ignored me and kept sending me letters on how much she loved me. Emails #9, #10) I told her twice that I was going to send her flowers and I would like to have her photographed with the flowers. She completely ignored my request. Email #10) I asked her specific questions about her birthdate, how many siblings she had, and her work.  These were things she already told me and I wanted to know if the facts changed. She ignored my questions. Email #12) I asked which airport and flight she would take, and she ignored me. Email #13) She starts talking about money for her plane ticket and visa Email #14) She asks for the money to be sent via Western Union

Hi there. This person sent me a message via http://www.friendfinder.com. I responded, we had one short conversation on the MSN messenger then a short but very intense e-mail duel on its e-mail account persvet202@yandex.ru. I seemed to be very excited about this thing until it asked me for $350 which I heard about already. I sobered up and did some research. 

Here's what I found out:

1. It claims to be living in the city of Kirov and attending a law school there. In reality, it dials up from the city of Yoshkar-Ola , the capital of the Republic of Mari-El which is obvious from the header of the e-mails it sends (check the file named "last-message-header.txt" in this zip attached to this message). It does not know basic things about its claimed residence city of Kirov , details which I found on the Net. It said, her town is located 800 km East of Moscow which is true for Yoshkar-Ola but not Kirov which is over 200 miles further up North.

2. I suggested going to Costa Rica together motivating it by the fact that I speak Spanish fluently so we won't have at least a language barrier with locals. It replied saying it went to a travel agency and eyed a trip to that " Spain , Costa Rica " asking for these proverbial $350. If she went to a real travel agency they would have told her that Costa Rica is nowhere near Spain . The logic of this stupid and ignorant person goes like this: ok, it's about Spanish so it must be Spain . It has no idea how much of the world speaks Spanish. Only people who sent her money must be dumber than this.

Overall, it never could put its lies together. It feels like there at least 2 different persons who work on this scam. That's why I think so: I sent them a few of my photographs in my first and second replies. When I spoke to it via the MSN messenger, it asked me when I was going to finally send it some photos. I said, what's the matter, I sent you some already. It said, "ah, it's you..." It did feel like it was somewhat different person on the MSN, more reserved and less interested. Or it just can't track all its victims, does not remember which sent what and does not look at the pictures sent.

Direct questions not answered, parts of its messages are obviously clopied-pasted, and its messages sound totally unreal for a sane mind. It sounds more like masturbative fantasies of an adolescent male than something written by a real grown-up female.

I did not send any money, I just reported it to the www.friendfinder.com team. At the time I reported it its account was already suspended and after my message they thanked me for the information and deleted its account.

Like I said, I did not lose any money but I don't want it to be playing with feelings of the people so I'd like that face and this story appear on your page. 

All correspondence and pictures are attached. Sounds just like your other Yoshkar-Ola based reports: lives with the mother, USD$350 request etc....
